Sorbitol Syrup
this sugar alcohol (polyol) is a food additive (E420ii), used primarily as sugar replacement, humectant and stabilizer. It contains about 1/3 fewer calories than sugar and it is 60 % as sweet as sugar. It is widely appreciated in the food and beverage industry to reduce their calorie content. It is very popular for candies and chewing-gums because it does not contribute to the formation of cavities, and because of its cooling effect in the mouth.
